Is this Ottocast product compatible with my car?

Most Ottocast products are designed for vehicles (typically 2016 or newer) with Factory Wired Apple CarPlay and/or Factory Wired Android Auto. This product is a wired-to-wireless adapter and must be plugged into a USB data port (not a charge-only port).

If I’ve paired two phones, which one will it connect to next time?

If multiple paired phones are nearby, Ottocast will usually reconnect to the last used phone.

To switch devices, disconnect CarPlay on the current phone (or turn off its Bluetooth/Wi-Fi), then connect with the other phone.

Some models also support one-tap switching or manual device selection.

Can I move it between two cars?

Yes. Just unplug it and use it in another compatible vehicle. In the new car, you may need to re-pair your phone or do a quick first-time setup.

Is it hard to set up?

Not at all. Just plug it into your car’s wired CarPlay/Android Auto USB data port and follow the on-screen prompts for first-time pairing.

Will it reconnect automatically when I start the car? How long does it take?

Yes. After the first setup, it auto-reconnects using memory pairing—usually around 5 seconds (actual time may vary by vehicle and phone).

Should I choose the USB-A version or the USB-C (Type-C) version?

Choose the version that matches your car’s CarPlay/Android Auto USB data port:

  • USB-A port → USB-A version
  • USB-C port → USB-C (Type-C) version

Will the Mini Cube 3.0 fit in my car’s USB port area?

Yes. Mini Cube 3.0 is ultra-compact (21.6 × 21.6 × 23.5 mm, ~8.8 g) and fits neatly in most CarPlay/Android Auto USB ports.

If your port is recessed or tight, a short USB extension cable can help avoid sharp angles and make plugging/unplugging easier.

Does it work with both iPhone and Android?

Yes. Mini Cube 3.0 supports Wireless CarPlay (iPhone) and Wireless Android Auto (Android). Your car must already support factory wired CarPlay and/or wired Android Auto (USB data port)—this adapter upgrades wired to wireless.

Recommended: iOS 10+ / Android 11+.

    the ottocast mini cube 3.0 is super convenient and works just like it says it quickly turned my wired carplay into wireless and connected to my iphone really fast. setup was easy and it stays connected every time i get in the car. everything feels smooth and responsive which makes using carplay while driving so much easier I also like that it works with android auto too. apps, maps, and music all work perfectly with no issues. the silver cube is small and fits nicely in my car. overall this is a great upgrade if you want wireless carplay or android auto.

    Great wireless adapter.
    I got this for my dad to use with his Acura. He is not a huge tech guy but has been pleasantly surprised with how seamlessly it works, and is so happy to not have to always plug his phone in via a cable to get the functionality he needs. Very small, and unobtrusive. This thing isn't an eyesore and was super easy to set up. Seem to take about ten seconds or so on average to pair up upon engine start which is fantastic.

    Oh, man...FANTASTIC! I've tried multiple of these dongles before and NONE have ever compared to this one! The connection is very fast and seamless so far. Its size is unreal; it's at least 1/4 the size of the others I've tried, and it looks almost factory in my 2020 Expedition that only has wired CarPlay! This works exactly as intended, and is by far the best one of these I've tried. I think we literally threw the others out because they didn't connect well or had other random glitches. So far, this is as good (or better) than any factory wireless system I've used. I also have an aftermarket radio with wireless CarPlay in my '15 Jeep Wrangler, and this thing's performance blows that out of the water by a long shot. As I'm writing this, there's a $30 coupon, so you can get it for $50. That's a ridiculously great deal for how good this is. I have had these before that were over $100 and didn't perform nearly this well, and were much larger and uglier. Oh yeah, on that point, did I mention this looks so good it could be OEM? It's a very good-looking, tiny little dongle. It is USB but comes with a mini USB adapter also. I literally couldn't say enough great things about this dongle and you should get this now if you need one and not even bother with the others.Update - I just noticed that it gets really hot to the touch so be very careful grabbing it if it's been plugged in and used.
